About This Role

We are looking for a Gameplay Programmer to build and refine the player-facing experience in our upcoming projects. You will focus on movement, combat, abilities, interactions, camera behavior, feedback systems, and gameplay polish. This role is open on a part-time or full-time basis depending on experience, availability, and project fit. The listed compensation range reflects full-time annualized base pay; part-time engagements would be prorated based on expected hours and scope.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and polish player movement, controls, camera systems, and combat interactions
  • Build gameplay features such as abilities, weapons, feedback systems, and core player mechanics
  • Collaborate with design to prototype, evaluate, and iterate on gameplay concepts
  • Support enemy interactions, encounter logic, and systems that affect the player experience
  • Tune and refine responsiveness, pacing, and moment-to-moment gameplay quality
  • Identify and resolve bugs, edge cases, and implementation issues affecting gameplay stability
  • Optimize gameplay code for smooth performance across target platforms
  • Help establish maintainable patterns and standards for gameplay implementation

Requirements

  • 4+ years of professional gameplay programming experience on commercial game projects
  • Strong C# programming skills and solid gameplay architecture judgment
  • Deep experience implementing responsive player controls, combat systems, and interactions in Unity
  • Strong understanding of game feel, timing, input responsiveness, and moment-to-moment polish
  • Experience working with animation systems, state machines, cameras, and feedback-driven gameplay
  • Experience shipping at least one commercial action, shooter, or mechanics-heavy game
  • Strong debugging, profiling, and performance optimization skills
  • Ability to collaborate closely with designers and translate gameplay goals into polished implementation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Availability for reasonable overlap with U.S. working hours
